The smugglers of forbidden magical artifacts

Mastering magic is a very arduous task, so the study of magic is broken down into millions of branches, one for each human activity. It can take many decades for a person to develop a high level of magical mastery in a single specialty and so, scholars of magic have developed shortcuts so that all knowledge of a magical study can continue from an advanced point to the next generations. These "shortcuts" are often objects that facilitate the use of magic or books with spells contained within their pages. These objects are everywhere, from a bread roll with magical properties of massaging dough, to the stone that guarantees prolonged youth. So that powerful objects do not circulate freely and are not used for political or tyrannical purposes, the Bench, a magical legal power, greatly restricted the trade and circulation of these artifacts, which ensured stability after decades of indiscriminate use of magic accumulated in common objects. Many magical objects were destroyed, others kept under the jurisdiction of the government, but so many others were lost around, which aroused the interest of a very private group of people, the smugglers of forbidden magical artifacts. A smuggler of magical artifacts must be very careful and is constantly at risk of life. It is an activity that requires a lot of study and physical preparation, as it constantly ends up dealing with extreme weather conditions or mishandling a wand or rubber duck with high magic charges, which can lead to instant death. Because they are constantly hunted by the magical jurisdiction, smugglers must always walk in the shadows, no one knows who they are and they must carry as little technology with them as possible so that they are not traced, but one day a smuggler wanted to attract attention. Açaí, as he was known, was a notorious smuggler of forbidden magical artifacts and became famous because every object smuggled by him received a seal in the form of the açaí fruit, that is where the name came from. The stories of how this smuggler operated ranged from the most fantastic adventures to the greatest political conspiracies, but no one was sure how he traveled through so many magical realms and for many, even fictional ones, to obtain the darkest books, the most powerful wands, the most influential rings and even the most sacred cards, every object that had the açaí seal was a guarantee of rare magic. For decades the magical jurisdiction tried to find out who this Açaí was, many people were persecuted, arrested and even killed during this process, until one day a man presented himself in the central square of Fantasy City and surrendered as Açaí himself. He confessed all of his crimes to the Bench, took some magical artifacts with him to prove it, and managed to be convincing enough that he was arrested and sentenced to execution by popular vote. Before being executed, Açaí's last words were "There are hundreds of objects that I never sold because they were too powerful to be in tha hands of anyone who could pay for them, so I hid each one of them in a point of the continent with clues that lead to them. Let the hunt begin". After that, hundreds of adventurers left their homes and families to look for the magical objects that Açaí hid, some have already been found, others took the opportunity to create a fake seal to profit from. The truth is that, regardless of whether the executed Açaí was the real one or not, this seal created a movement much bigger than one person and changed the history of magic forever.
