The Board Meeting

It’s 2018, and I had just moved to Oahu, Hawai’i from Australia. I had no friends, no community that I was a part of, so I did my usual, went out and droned by myself. I lived across the road from the main local break and decided that this will be my stomping ground to continue to learn how to fly. I had only picked up a drone the year before (Phantom 2) and didn’t really shoot surfing, mainly just landscapes. I had never really seen people longboard and nose ride like they did here, so much power and grace, i was in complete awe. Little did I know I was watching some of the best surfers in the world, who a few months later would become some of my closest friends, and still are to this day. “The Board Meeting” is the first top down shot I ever took in Hawai’i. It is one of my most cherished pieces as its gotten me to where I am today.
