when I went to my first bear clan ceremony I was a new mother. I was carrying my little one in my arms, walking w my mother

the drums called us all to the circle but once I stepped up I was stopped by one of the elders who told me that if I dance with the child in my arms I am offering up my child to the spirits, i was so surprised-we certainly wouldn’t do such a thing but what was the meaning in that?

I am very honoured to share my stories of my learning of our traditional ceremony-it’s been an incredible journey thus far to listen to elders and reclaim teachings for my family

I am bear clan and as bear clan we have our own ceremonies, I don’t know any other clan ceremony because I am not allowed to go! The clan ceremony are amongst many others collectively I have been sharing with you
