“The Word After Us” is a transhuman poem by Sasha Stiles and her AI alter ego, Technelegy – created as the source text for a generative poetry performance enacted on fxhash, July 27, 2022, in collaboration with Nathaniel Stern. To co-author this poem, Technelegy was powered by GPT-3 and fine-tuned on a combination of Stiles’ and Stern’s writing and research; the title is a nod both to Stiles’ posthuman poetics and to Stern’s solo show on techno-aesthetic futures, “The World After Us.” The term “broadside” refers to the centuries-old method for the public distribution of poetry popularized after the advent of moveable type in the 15th century.
