This image was generated from a single word —“woman”— and yet it reveals much more: it exposes the enduring influence of aesthetic ideals inherited from antiquity that continue to shape how femininity is represented.

"Canon: What remains" questions the standards of beauty historically imposed by external gazes —masculine, Western, and normative— and how those molds still survive, even within new creative tools like artificial intelligence.

The artwork invites us to reflect on which parts of that canon remain intact, what we’ve internalized, and what we choose to redefine. It becomes a visual dialogue between past and present, body and form, between what we’ve been told we are and what we truly wish to express.

Esta imagen fue generada a partir del simple término “mujer”, y sin embargo revela mucho más: expone la permanencia de ciertos ideales estéticos heredados desde la antigüedad, que aún moldean la representación de lo femenino.

“Canon: What remains” cuestiona los modelos de belleza que han sido impuestos históricamente desde una mirada externa —masculina, occidental y normada—, y cómo esos moldes sobreviven incluso en las nuevas herramientas creativas como la inteligencia artificial.

La obra invita a reflexionar sobre qué parte de ese canon sigue intacta, qué hemos naturalizado y qué elegimos resignificar. Es un diálogo visual entre pasado y presente, entre cuerpo y forma, entre lo que nos dijeron que somos y lo que realmente queremos mostrar.
