In the studio I dip my brush into both the light and the darkness because the world never gives you just one side to paint from. Some days I have to let myself feel a little crazy so the work can breathe wild and honestly. Other days I have to become the biggest hippie in the room just to push love back into a world that feels heavy. We sit in our own space surrounded by noise, memories, and feelings until they stick to us and become the message on the canvas. The process takes hold of the mind and keeps spinning even when the lights are off, because once you go deep into the work it is hard to find your way back out.
