The proof prints which I use to edit my documentary work become useless once the process of selecting is over. As a ritual, to move on and detach myself from the work, I've taken the habit of destroying them. Over the years, I've broken them down using strong acids, mould, buried them for months under the earth. They escape from my control, deteriorate and morph into new images with distant traces of what they once were.
