“Allosaurus fragilis” or “Different Lizard” museum quality specimen Theropod of the Late Jurassic Epoch (145-155 million years ago) Length:~28 ft. Weight: 2.3 metric tons Diet: ornithopods, stegosaurids, & sauropods Found: Ten Sleep, Wyoming (Dana Quarry) within the Morrison Formation skeleton 95% complete The small horns above the eyes are lacrimal bone extensions that may have been used to attract mates & combat rivals. The sharp serrated teeth were shed easily & make for common fossils. This particular skull consists of over 12 individual bones that were found disarticulated but within a 3ft. radius.
This is the first dinosaur to be featured in the Metaverse Museum of Art & Natural History. A portion of the sales will be allocated towards the acquisition of the next prehistoric creature. Top bidder will also receive a photographic print of the original specimen.
