Clement Valla, Photogrammetry with Textile Simulation, 2021

The “Textilographic Rock and Lichen, Yellostwone,” series is comprised of 13 video loops. The source for these videos are 3d photogrammetry scans of rocks from mountain-tops in Yellowstone. 500 million years ago these mountains sat at the bottom of an ocean.

In each video, the texture of the rock is unwrapped using textile simulation.
