Tessellation is the process of creating a two-dimensional or three-dimensional object from a set of smaller pieces that fit together without any gaps or overlaps. Glitch art is a type of art that is created by deliberately introducing errors or faults into digital images or videos.

Some artists combine these two concepts to create unsettling tessellation glitches. By creating tessellations out of digital images that contain glitches, they are able to create images that are both visually interesting and subtly disturbing.
