Under no circumstances should anyone make a decision for what a woman can or cannot do with their body.

Religion and personal opinions should not have any role in drafting laws.

There are many reasons why a woman would choose to have an abortion. We are not here to judge those reasons and no one, including the government or the Supreme Court, should ever force a woman to give to birth.

If Roe vs Wade is overturned by the Supreme Court, women who have been raped, women who have a non-viable fetus or a fetus with terminal malformations will be forced to carry those fetuses to term. A child who has been raped, will be forced to carry that trauma with her and forced to give birth to child she has no means to care for either financially, or mentally.

The United States has the highest maternal mortality rate out of the ten highest income countries in the world. Black women die at a rate that ranges from three to four times the rate of their white counterparts. Access to safe abortion is health care. Denying access is stripping a woman of her rights and turning back the clock to a time when women were considered less than a man.

Regardless, of your personal opinion on abortion, if Roe Vs Wade is overturned, women will suffer and women will die. Access to safe and affordable health care is a basic human right.
