Nobody talks enough about how much of our lives are shaped by people we never became.

The friend who changed us.

The parent whose voice still lives in our head.

The person we followed so far that we forgot where our own footsteps ended and theirs began.

That's what this piece feels like to me.

Not guidance.

Not control.

Just the strange weight of being pulled forward by something outside yourself.

Because being led sounds comforting.

Until you realize every path costs something.

Every hand that guides you leaves fingerprints.

Every person who helps shape your life changes the direction of it forever.

And maybe that's why this image feels so heavy.

Because I can't tell who's carrying who.

The one in front looks free.

The one behind looks burdened.

But maybe they're both doing the same thing.

Maybe every leader is carrying the weight of being followed.

And every follower is carrying the weight of trusting someone else with a piece of their future.

Maybe that's what growing up is.

Learning that some of the roads we call our own were first walked by someone we loved, feared, admired, or simply trusted enough to follow.

So be honest
