What's the story behind “Enchanted Archway”?
Monsoon Season had not yet begun in Korea. The weather conditions were sunny, extremely hot and humid on the day that I visited a local park in Seoul. I noticed the infamous sign, “I SEOUL U” above this archway as I strolled through the park. So, I paused nearby it, to wait for the perfect shot.
Minutes later, a woman and a little girl, walked past me, in the direction of the archway. The woman held a sun umbrella to protect herself from the harsh elements, which is common for women to do in Korea. The little girl didn’t appear to be affected by the harsh weather conditions at all, as she accompanied the woman on their walked throughout the park.
The little girl demonstrated strength and resolve to overcome life’s adversities during their walk. I experienced calmness as I watched this scene unfold before my eyes while I peered into my camera’s viewfinder, framed the shot and took this photo. I hope that you like the final result of this infrared photography NFT as much as I do.
“What is Infrared Photography?
Infrared (IR) photography follows the basic photographic concept of “capturing light,” except it captures the ever-present infrared light around us that is virtually impossible to see with the naked eye.
In scientific terms, visible light that reflects all the colors that we can see is measured between wavelengths of 400-700 nanometers (nm), while “near IR” or infrared is measured between 700-1,000 nm.” – Adorama
