We know that dogs make us happier and healthier, but sometimes it’s hard to put into words just how much they mean to us.

Rupert and I are Brothers In Arms. Pure and simple. We have our daily routine, a language that includes serious and goofy words, watch sunrise and sunset from the trails everyday, snack on beef jerky together after our adventures in the wilderness, and watch the occasional show.

He adores children, women love him, he’ll chase off a coyote, and sit patiently while javelina, deer and jackrabbits fly past us. The bond we’ve built up over our 14 years together is extraordinary. In fact, his presence is the best therapy I could possibly have in my emotional and physical battle against Multiple Myeloma.
