LOST TRANSMISSION | #RIPHEN Exclusive

BACKGROUND: Lost Transmission, has substantial meaning for me and was an actual project I started way back in the HEN @hicetnunc2000 days. A few days into making it, HEN abruptly shut down and I unwillingly abandoned the idea. It felt fit to complete it for the #RIPHEN event

CONCEPT: The concept behind it was always to create a piece with immersion, typically with a First-Person View in mind, I wanted the storytelling entirely driven by sound design and minimal visual cues on the screen.

STORY: "A spaceship with crew onboard is approaching an unknown source of energy called the catalyst. As they reach closer, the catalyst is sentient and takes control of the vehicle. The crew meets their demise a few moments later."

The last words from the command center are "HEN is lost in transmission, Please proceed to the next one".

SUBTEXT: To keep it simple here, The spaceship is called HEN, it set out to do a great deal but was lost to us in the process. Hence #RIPHEN and the creators (us) moved on.

ANIMATION: This was created using many different softwares, but the main ones are 3dsmax and Vray, After Effects, Nuke, Premiere, Audition & DaVinci Resolve.

SOUND DESIGN: Apart from the design and animation, a lot of work went into the sound design and mixing of this piece. Each vocal you listen to is an absolute original, specifically produced for this animation.
