When the sun dips below the horizon, there's an hour or so when light is colder, darker and 'bluer'. That's the blue hour where the world has a unique and pleasing hue, albeit a much colder look.

This photo was created using a slightly longer exposure time while it was gently snowing, and with a little flash, was able to capture the snow, which made the entire scene quite magical.
