Description of the piece: On a field of ruins, Fame in the air. In the foreground, a sarcophagus with inscriptions in Greek and Latin, and on it, books, a skull and a vase. Beside, Virtue under a winged hourglass, reading the book of History. All around, symbols of rebirth: ears of corn, Phoenixes and a deer breaking its horns.
