The Person I Never Became

Every life is shaped not only by the choices we make, but also by the choices we leave behind.

As we move through time, countless versions of ourselves disappear quietly. They exist only as possibilities—paths not taken, words not spoken, ambitions postponed, relationships that never fully unfolded. Although these lives were never lived, they remain present within us, influencing how we understand our successes, regrets, hopes, and fears.

Many people spend years believing they are haunted by failure, when in reality they are haunted by possibility. We measure ourselves against imagined versions of who we might have become, carrying invisible conversations with alternate selves that exist only in memory and imagination.

This work explores that psychological space between acceptance and longing. It reflects the tension between gratitude for the life we have and curiosity about the lives we did not choose. Rather than offering resolution, it invites viewers to confront the quiet presence of unrealized potential that accompanies every human experience.

My practice is rooted in these unseen emotional realities. I am interested in the inner narratives people carry—the hopes, absences, contradictions, and imagined futures that continue to shape identity long after decisions have been made. Through abstraction, I seek to create a space where viewers can encounter those forgotten possibilities and recognize fragments of themselves within them.
