Polar Bear is one of the most majestic species. It’s a largest bear in the world and powerful symbol of the strength and endurance of the Arctic.  Polar Bears spend most of their lives on the sea ice of the Arctic Ocean depending on the ocean for their food and habitat, that is why they are considered to be marine mammals. «Ursus maritimus» is a Latin name of Polar Bear. It means «Sea Bear». Also, the Polar bear’s skin is actually black, and their fur is transparent and reflects light. They can weight up to 800 kg and can grow up 3 meters long. Also, they are excellent swimmers and can swim for a long distance for many hours using their large paws which are specially adapted for swimming. Polar bears are classified as «vulnerable». The climate change is the biggest threat to Polar Bear. Because of the rising temperature the sea ice is melting earlier and forming later each year, that is why Polar Bear has less time for hunting food.
