Alkonost is a Slavic bird of paradise with arms, breasts and a woman's face. It is a symbol of good sadness. The bird controls the weather and sings so sweetly that everyone who hears her singing forgets about everything in the world. Once a year, the Alkonost descends to earth to immerse its eggs in the depths of the sea for 7 days. All these days she is nearby in the forest thicket and sings her beautiful songs. People have always tried to get the eggs of the bird of paradise to place them in their temples. Alkonost is not dangerous to humans, but it can harm a person by saving its chicks. The gods gave the modern Alkonost powerful and fast iron wings, now her chicks are always safe. As soon as a person tries to approach the nest, the Alkonost arrives from the forest thicket in a few seconds and plunges the thief into a long unconsciousness with its fascinating voice.
