By introducing small defects, the piece creates the illusion of 5-fold rotational symmetry, despite its impossibility in actual tiling. Through the summing of different waves, a mesmerizing and intricate pattern emerges, appearing periodic at first sight but revealing its true, imperfect nature upon closer inspection. Like the beating of a thousand butterfly wings, this project is a celebration of the complex and ever-evolving dance between order and chaos.
