Initially, I wrote some code to create rotating polygons to test my pen plotter. Then I realized that the motion of the polygons was interesting, so I connected the polygon vertices to try to visualize this motion. The result was some interesting curves that varied with the number of polygons and vertices.

The most interesting thing to me was the large number of different outputs that could be made from this simple process. There were many times during development when I got an output that was substantially different from what I had seen prior, even after thousands of iterations.
