Description

There are individuals who see the world in gradients. However, there are others who have a fetish for dithered graphics, the combination of adjacent pixels to simulate smooth color transitions. This one-of-a-kind piece contains the best of both worlds containing some of the best low-poly 3D modeling on the net.

I've been wanting to implement dithered graphics in my work for some time and this is an early attempt. Like the Impressionists, when seen from up close one will notice the picture uses a custom dithering algorithm. It is one of many effects to use creatively for larger projects.

Since the piece is meant to be seen with the size intended it is suggested to keep a ratio that is a multiple of its actual size, which is 9000 x 9000 pixels, or there will be perceived pixel distortion. So halves, or thirds, of its actual size will have perceived dithering, which is a good thing. Likewise, it is suggested to print at the actual size, 30" x 30", for the full experience.
