A new collaborative project that @nonceptualism_ and @labelsonhumans are working on that brings together many of our artistic and social interests. We will be releasing new pieces regularly.

The fact that @nonceptualism_ and myself often seem to find beauty in the every day, ordinary stuff of existence, usually in the least expected and unconventional of places makes us wonder if we are trying to transcend the everyday or realise the immanence of beauty.

Either will do.

The Arte Povera idea of blurring the line between art and daily life seems to be applicable here. Although that’s more coincidence than conscious planning. As artists we are just drawn to this kind of aesthetic.

I’m currently thinking about photography a lot and wanted to try out some ideas.

I’ve always been a fan of Nonceptualism’s photography and was keen to collaborate using his work.

With ‘poor art’ (lower case) we are attempting to bring together social concerns at the state of the world most of us inhabit with the artistic output that we enjoy making and find beautiful. We wanted to give form to the very act of ‘making the most of what we have’.

We have always enjoyed and appreciated art that speaks to us about our everyday lives and we wanted to try and bring abstract thinking into the everyday. To make art about life and how we try and negotiate it to make it bearable.

To find the beautiful as more and more is taken away.
