When it rains where I live in Northern Australia the red dirt roads turn into little lakes . The water fills the road and is as red as the dirt. The huge splashes cover our car when we drive around the outback going on adventures to the wild places. We always looked forward to seeing the red water cover the car windows as kids.

This colour for me is everything, it colours our lives out here. These roads that take us on our adventures in the dry season and keep us at home during the wet. The magic of red dirt on my skin is all that home is for me. Life blood, water, rain, dirt, mud and skin.
