Description

This work is a Siah-Mashq — a practice in which the calligrapher freely and repeatedly writes letters and words, letting beauty emerge from density and rhythm. The swirling, restless strokes evoke the unsettled human spirit wandering through the “desert” of the world, as Omar Khayyam writes:

Since man’s lot in this desert of turmoil Is nothing but sorrow until life’s last breath

Within the endless entanglement of lines, one senses humanity’s perpetual search for peace and release — the very liberation Khayyam praises:

Happy is the one who left this world swiftly And at rest is the one who never came to this world

This Siah-Mashq is not merely writing, but a visual embodiment of Khayyam’s philosophy: chaos, transience, and the yearning for serenity.

Ink on paper, with geometric art.
