What keeps a broken glass whole? Slowing down time? You know, the moment it was just hit, but the pieces hav barely moved from where they were when the glass was still intact?

How about humans? Can we still be whole after life shatters us to the most minute pieces? How do the pieces still stick together? And how do they, and the bigger picture, look like to the external observer?
