When it was new I was in heaven. Every second I wanted more and more. What could be more perfect than this?

The original "Outdated Heaven" project focused on using 128x128px & 256x256px images created with VQGAN+CLIP back around 2020. I then used smaller, non native resolutions with the StableDiffusion model. This would often cause desired undesired effects. I then would upscale these "broken" renders (usually with my favorite grunge upscaler ESRGAN_4X) which would usually end up with the images being either over sharpened, over saturated, or very blurred as though it was 140p. Sometimes it would even over define the visuals making the resulting image look 4k instead.

Exactly how I wanted it.

I have always been in love with the aesthetic of older AI models. I love the artifacts that people get frustrated over because it is what makes the medium special. I love when the colors, objects, and ideas merge together in a unique unseen way that I wasn't thinking of. I love the mystery of what will be generated next with infinite prompts, settings, and possibilites. I love the imperfections that come with raw generations and trying to figure out exactly what the AI was going for. I always like to pretend that the AI never generates a mistake. It is just thinking much deeper than you and I. I believe in it.

Could an AI create something more beautiful than heaven? Can something with imperfections be perfect because of it? Did the outdated Heaven update to try to get back on top? Outdated Heaven V2 is about letting go, finding peace, and giving mistakes and problems a second look from a new frame of mind.
