OMO ASEGI TA (CHILD OF A WOODCUTTER) Inspired by yoruba adage "Omo asegi ta ni naani epo igi" — "A child of woodcutter cherishes the wood covers".

This piece is a visceral return to the soil that shaped me. Growing up, the farm was not just a place of labor, but the cradle of my sustenance, where the act of gathering firewood provided our daily bread.

Through this work, I revisit those memories not as a burden, but as a foundation of strength. It is a literary reminder to embrace our origins unremorsefully and to find profound dignity in the heritage that sustains us.
