Having covered a distance as large as the ocean, the wave, at The Start of it's final act, this wave, one of many to come during the day, was rising and curling in white, to roll toward the shore where it would end with a thunderous noise to announce it's arrival.

This photograph was made by combining the right shutter speed, the right amount of camera movement and nailing the composition, all together and in such a way as to imitate the artists paintbrush on a canvas.

Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) involves the movement of the camera at a specific speed and/or direction during the operation of the shutter, to result in a blurred image that still contains enough detail and a story of what it is about, and what it contains, and yet, is abstract enough to allow the viewers eye to read into the narrative as they desire.
