So you've heard of white noise? or maybe brown noise? could I interest you in Nyan Noise?
A single frequency will be generated. From that frequency 2 more will be calculated and a chord formed. From the chord a progression will be created mathematically. The initial frequency is random... there is no mapping to the western ear outside of the intervals between chords. Each chord will be played for a random duration, complimented by 2 entirely random low end frequencies. The visual layer is composed via mathematically translating the frequencies to colors to generate a color pallet. There are two strokes that are shaped after the chord and low end frequencies that paint the canvas the duration of a chord. There are 2 filters layered on top which move relative to the "rhythm" of the chords. The outputs are not musical in any nature. They are noise... There is a refrain created between the color and sounds that aim to draw you in and induce catharsis via hyperstimulation. I find myself staring at multiple outputs per code iteration. I hope that others can block out the world for a moment and be present with these pieces in a meditative way.
