"Mosaic From Rio" and "Carioca in BW" breaks the stablished paradigms of the perfect American woman standard (for those who are unaware, the word Carioca means someone native from Rio). A beautiful glowing woman with Brazilian traits and a tan in her skin that embodies the traditional Rio de Janeiro woman. This work was complex and took a long time to get completed. To find the perfect glow, five layers of treated image were join together and a different combination of layers were required to achieve the desired glow in the BW version. The image has been treated and each layer of the composition adjusted in photographic effects software. From the glow in the breasts, skin, contours and body. All of them reflect different aspects, from ultraviolet, golden hour to in studio light. The reflexive water in the background gives a special touch, making the scene a very special and unique creation. In the specific case of the mosaic, each part of the composition was individually cropped and shadowed with slightly different tones, individually manipulating each piece and not following an specific symmetry standard allowed the end result to reflect a hand made work intentionally built with uneven pieces.
