Master of mixed techniques, "one of Sun Ning’s favourite techniques is painting with watercolours. The water holding freely floating colour pigments sinks into the paper leaving only the fine pigments on the surface, rendering subsequent corrections impossible."

Using watercolor as his language, Sun Ning's work leaves a deep impression. "A touch of homesickness turned into an eternal artistic conception. People are contemplative and nostalgic."
