Celtis tala, or “tala” is a deciduous tree in the celtidaceae family. It is native to tropical and subtropical South America and it is an emblematic species of the “Gran Chaco” prairies and the Pampas of Argentina. This plant has many ecological interactions with different insects, birds and mammals that use it for food or shelter.
