Playing with portraits of the great surrealist Salvidor Dali, I blended them with various AI generated images from my personal collection to turn Dali into a kind of magician. By creating these caricatures of Dali’s face a signature moustache with bright red lips, cheeks or nose I play with the notion of artist as clown. As the video progresses his appearance and movements become more unhinged while Dali becomes more robotic. A nod to his influence within AI image generators output, but also a questioning of the artists role today with AI.
