This photo was taken in June of 2020 at a protest march in Fargo, North Dakota for the murder of George Floyd. It was the first outing with my camera, and I wasn't quite sure what I was doing, only that I wanted to try and document the energy and camaraderie on display that I'd witnessed at the first protest.
I still don't know what I'm doing if I'm being honest. But I was rewarded that day with the feeling that I had just captured something significant on as we neared the end of the protest and I was able to take a few shots of everybody.
It's selfish, but I hope to replicate that feeling of shooting something important one day.
