While tracking through Jawai’s rugged granite hills, we caught sight of this leopard stepping stepped out of the bushes, calm as ever, like it owned the place; and honestly, it does.

It was one of those moments where everything stood still; the light, the wind, even breath. I spotted the leopard just as it emerged onto the granite ledge, perfectly framed between stone and sky. We locked eyes, and I pressed the shutter.

I call it Contact, because that’s exactly what it was. Not a sighting. But a moment of quiet recognition between man and wild.
