The metal is always in this place, and the wood is always in the surrounding, but when metal is mixed it cannot go back where it came from, it can only go up to it's source. From the metal's source it goes to the end of the material and it is then mixed and compressed to reach the desired strength and stability, but we cannot get from metal to wood at that point because it would have to be at ground level.
