In Relic Couture, I reinterpret Shakespeare’s reflection on transience by transforming mortality into a luxury metamorphosis. The video work captures the fluid transition between the human form and its skeletal essence, where corporeal elegance does not fade but is instead transposed into a structure of pure enamel, pearls, and lace.
My interpretation elevates the body to an autonomous aesthetic object: pearls and lace are not mere ornaments, but an armor merging with the bone. Through this process, the figure ceases to be a subject destined for decay and becomes an eternal reliquary. It is a poetics of fragility where human fate, stripped of its organic tragedy, solidifies into an ornamental persistence that defies time.
