Quique was the protector of communities in the Sonoran Desert. All it took was a specific whistle for him to come to their aid in the event of health problems or thieves lurking in the area. All the communities held him in high esteem and held festivals in his honor. He lived for more than 200 years; in fact, no one saw him die; he just disappeared one day. The oldest locals claim he's still around and know that if they ever truly need him, he'll come to their call.
