In mid Sept 2022 the Ethereum network was fully evolved from the POW (proof of work) system to POS (proof of stake) system in what’s commonly known as ‘The Merge.’ The first NFT to be minted under the new system was ‘The Transition’ an image of the initial transaction to be made on the new network. The initial buyer allegedly paid 36 ETH in gas fees to mint the NFT. The file featured an ASCII image of what appeared to be a panda, which I took as inspiration for this collection.
