I have met praises, and I have met cold silence.
In this short life that only lasts an hour,
How much - how little - is within our power.

Insouciance is a carefree state of mind,
Where worries and fears are left behind
Unencumbered by the weight of the world.

To face the world with a calm and steady heart,
Unshakeable and unwavering,
No matter what life may throw our way.

It is to accept the things we cannot change,
And to have the courage to change the things we can,
With grace and dignity,
And a steadfast determination to overcome.
