Meeting Sisyphus: digital painting
I try once again to dive into the myth of Sisyphus through a process of exploring procedures and tools in which; 3d modeling, rendering, random use of displacement maps, street found textures, light diffraction effects, chromatic aberrations and digital painting; they are integrated into this image of baroque chiaroscuro and gestural expressionism, with a touch of sci-fi, a sci-fi of the primal, an archaic future. In which perhaps imagining that in a hypothetical evolution of machines towards self-awareness, they would update, inherit the mythical punishment imposed on Sisyphus, they would be human. It would be us.
"The struggle itself toward the heights is enough to fill a man's heart. One must imagine Sisyphus happy.” A. Camus.
