Sometimes we give it our all...our best to a person. We give them the love and care we desire to feel, out of the goodness of our hearts. But that does not guarantee reciprocation. It can be met with indifference, unavailability and make one feel as if having a big heart is burdensome. So sometimes when we give it our all, we unfortunately discover that no love or care will be received back. We have no choice but to leave, weary from the tugs of our emotions and pain.
After catching feelings that made one soar miles high (Floating), only to return to earth as their infatuation finally settled(Falling Slowly), to the realisation that their efforts would not be returned, and that it would be better to take their love where it would be appreciated (Ngizothatha Umthwalo Wami Ngihambe). Having had enough of the pain of a lack of reciprocation, one had to make a choice (On the Edge). They had to let go (Letting Go).
We gave it our all, but love was never enough.
