Plitvice is the second piece in my Love & Honey series; an ode to the Balkans

Croatia was a place I called home for several years and the country where I met my wife. To say it holds a fond place in my heart would be an understatement.

Whilst living in Croatia one of the first trips we took was to Plitvice Lakes. I recall being absolutely blown away by the beauty that surrounded me and it was at that moment the fire inside me was lit and I truly fell in love with this beautiful & diverse region.

During the Autumn months, the foliage surrounding Plitvice Lakes turns to a quite incredible array of reds, yellows, and greens. Making it a photographer's paradise. On this particular morning, we hiked to a slightly more remote viewpoint. We were graced with the sound of water cascading over the falls as the early morning mist parted under the sun's first rays to reveal the most magical scene below.
