Description
This is the second generative work from "Faceless". Like the first one, it is a series of generative collages, only this time I managed to keep the work defined for each hash.
The spread of pictures are derived and painted over from a screenshot from “Les Yeux sans visage” (Eyes Without a Face ); a black and white French film from 1960, directed by Georges Franju. It is adapted by Pierre Boileau and Thomas Narcejac from the novel by Jean Redon.
In the film; Dr. Génessier causes an accident which leaves his daughter Christiane disfigured and he goes to extreme lengths to give her a new face. During the process Christiane (portrayed by Edith Scob) wears the mask used here.
“My face frightens me. My mask frightens me even more.”
