The Sun and Moon were brother and sister. But the Sun was jealous because the moon was more beautiful. They had a fight and the moon hid from her brother by coming down near a lake. She loved her brother and wanted him to shine brighter, so she used the mud from the bottom of the lake to conceal her aspect, and only came out when her brother was away. Not being shiny anymore she realized she could see, and be seen by stars. In the end, the morning star fell in love with her. (Adapted from a Kenyan legend)
