Defiant, determined, and clearly mischievous. Freckles, the fifth painting in Greg Hildebrandt’s Kid Stuff series seethes with suppressed anger, boiling just under the surface of his particle board flesh. The intense warm light highlights the flushed cheeks and the intense stare of the puppet. The viewer is left to wonder if there is someone caught in the unrelenting gaze of Freckles or if he himself is trapped in an infinite loop of his own imagination.
