This is an excerpt from an acrylic painting that I digitally edited. When I engage with visual art, my instinct is to get as close as I can, to let my eye pick apart every brushstroke. Technology allows me to follow this instinct in my own work, to expand small surfaces and get closer than my naked eye would allow. I find rich environments in these surfaces, and manipulating the colors and texture I find there offers me boundless territory for exploration.
