I have been quietly reflecting on my position in life. How I am, where I am, and who I am. These questions make you really take stock of how the various elements that float to and through your life influence it, and how your internal voice ultimately chooses what gets done with those elements. Like a stream swirling around you, there is a vibration in the air. If you could stop time you could see the ripples and turbulence pushing you in different directions. This piece was an attempt to stop time for a moment and take inventory of the various forces acting on me. The positive, the negative, the internal and the external, the real and the imagined. I tried to shape it and hold it in some tangible way. I tried to capture it for a moment in the hopes I could understand it more meaningfully. So I sat with myself and stopped time. This is me in a room.
